About Tivona

Compassionate, child-centred support grounded in play.

With over 10 years of experience supporting children with special needs and their families, Tivona brings a strong foundation in psychology and a compassionate, child-centred approach to therapeutic practice.

She specialises in supporting children's emotional, behavioural, social, and developmental growth through play-based interventions that honour each child's unique experiences and needs.

Tivona holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Murdoch University and has completed specialised training in Autism and Play Therapy through Play Therapy UK (PTUK). She has been a registered member of Play Therapy International (PTI) since 2023 and is currently a Certified Play Therapist and Provisional Post Qualifying Filial Play Coach.

With in-depth knowledge of child development and family dynamics, Tivona has extensive experience working with children across a wide range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural profiles, including autism, developmental delays, emotional regulation difficulties, and rare conditions.

She has developed adapted programmes tailored to individual learning and therapeutic needs, and has collaborated closely with educational leaders and cross-functional clinical professionals on program and curriculum development, intervention planning, and outreach initiatives.

Therapeutic Approach

Tivona is passionate about creating safe, nurturing, and accepting spaces where children feel seen, heard, and empowered to express themselves freely through play.

Grounded in evidence-based and neuroscience-informed practice, Tivona utilises different modalities and play toolkits to help children reflect on their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, promoting self-awareness, responsibility, respect for boundaries, and problem-solving.

She believes that meaningful therapeutic progress happens when children experience emotional safety, connection, and attuned support. Her approach is collaborative and relational, focusing not only on the child's emotional wellbeing, but also on strengthening the parent-child relationship and supporting the wider family system.

Tivona works closely with parents and professionals to deepen their understanding of the child's inner world, while providing practical guidance and supportive strategies that can be carried into everyday life. She values partnering with families in an empathetic, non-judgemental, and holistic manner.

Beyond her therapeutic work, Tivona also serves as a registered MOE instructor and leads a church-based support group, continuing her advocacy and support for children and families within the special needs community.

About Agape Play

What the Agape Play logo represents.

The Agape Play Collective logo reflects our belief that every child flourishes when surrounded by a supportive and connected community. At the centre of the logo is a sprouting seedling, representing each child’s potential to grow, heal, and thrive when provided with the right environment and care. The intertwining curves symbolise the close partnership between caregivers, professionals, and the child — working collaboratively to nurture growth and wellbeing within a safe and supportive ecosystem. The colours carry intentional meaning: green represents nurturing relationships, safety, and connection, while orange symbolises empowerment, growth, and hope.
